If your gas furnace isn't working try these few tips before you call for service:
- Check the settings on your thermostat. Make sure the temperature is set above the current room temperature, and the system switch is on the HEAT or AUTO position. The fan switch should be set to ON for continuous airflow or AUTO if you want the blower to operate only while the furnace is operating.
- Try turning the furnace on by turning the heat up as high as it will go.
- If the air flow out of your registers seems low, check the air filter. If your air filter is clogged, it can restrict airflow.
- Make sure all registers are both unobstructed and open.
- Check:
- the power disconnect switch to the furnace.
- the fuse/breaker at the electrical panel for the furnace.
- to make sure the gas valve to the furnace is open.
